Miami Dade College and the Lennar Foundation have launched MDC Builds, a program that prepares students for entry-level construction jobs. Employment for construction laborers and helpers is expected to grow 12% between 2016-2026 (faster than average) according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
This is a 10-week program that is offered at no cost to the student. The program includes classroom instruction and hands-on training. In addition to the free training, students are provided with transportation vouchers and meals.
Applicants must be 18+ years old and unemployed or underemployed.
